Don Souers

Don Souers was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA where his goal, from age 10, was to find a better place to live. Prior to his "planned escape," he met and married high school sweetheart, Theresa Walston. In 1978, they moved and settled into Eureka, CA where they enjoyed a life on the ocean and amidst Redwood trees. While employed with United Parcel, Don pursued his passion for fishing, hiking and exploring. After 17 years in Northern California, UPS transferred Don to South Lake Tahoe where he held the position of center manager. Having always had a dream to be in the Southern Sierras, this transfer was a gift. During the first few years in South Lake Tahoe, Don's wife began a career in real estate and he began to learn the trade through osmosis. During the early 1990's, Don was given notice that he was being transferred once again. This was not such welcomed news. He had one daughter in high school and another getting ready to start. It seemed as though the kids had just settled in following the last transfer. The family had long conversations in regards to the future and as a result, Don made the decision to leave UPS, join Theresa in the real estate business and start all over

The partnership was ideal as Don and Theresa each expanded their individual skills and soon became one of the area's most successful and recognized real estate teams. Together they reached national recognition in their production and service levels and put both children through college. In 2006, Don and Theresa joined their long- time business associates to open the Pinnacle Real Estate group. Don continues to find a balance between a career he loves, his passion for the outdoors (hiking, skiing, fishing, canoeing . . .,) his family and his granddaughter. All in all, it's a great life.

Theresa Souers

Theresa Souers met her husband, Don Souers during a high school English class in 1970 and it has been forward moving ever since. They married in 1974, moved to Eureka, CA where graduated from Humboldt State University with a degree in teaching physical education. During their 17 years in Eureka, Don & Theresa had two children, daughter Jaime (now a business partner) and son, Scott. Theresa became a leader in the area's fitness industry during the 1980's & 90's aerobic fitness craze, training instructors and teaching classes through private clubs and the adult education programs. In 1991, she and Don were transferred through Don's employment, United Parcel Service, to South Lake Tahoe. New to the area, she found herself once again teaching aerobic classes at a private club as well as the local community college. During this time, while pursuing an interest in photography, she was recruited to come work for a local real estate brokerage. Once making the decision to pursue such a career, there was no holding back. Theresa grabbed "horse by the reigns" and was determined to learn the industry inside and out.

During the past 15 years, Theresa and Don acquired a reputation as hard-working agents with a strong ethical background. Their production levels reached national recognition and Theresa was often asked to speak at statewide and national real estate meetings.

Theresa's professional affiliations include: president of the local real estate association, Realtor® of the Year, State MLS Rules Committee member, California Association of Realtors'® Director, Education Committee chair and Presidential Advisory Committee for the multiple listing services. Mark Salmon

Mark Salmon came to Lake Tahoe in 1995 after growing up in Southern California. For nearly a decade he worked in the lumber industry in Tahoe and gained a huge knowledge of building materials and techniques for residential and commercial projects. He created lasting relationships in the building community with contractors of every expertise.
